As part of the AVICO – Coding Training with Aviation Technologies project, partners are finalising a comprehensive MOOC that will soon be available to VET students, teachers and other learners interested in unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) and programming. The MOOC is organised into several complementary courses that together create a full learning pathway from introductory UAV concepts to more advanced technical and regulatory topics.

Across these courses, learners explore key themes such as UAV technologies and aerodynamics, safe and responsible operation, coding and data processing for drone applications, geographic information systems and digital cartography, as well as practical uses of drones in different sectors and the main aspects of UAV legislation and licensing. The structure allows participants to either follow the complete pathway or select the courses that best match their needs and prior knowledge.

The AVICO MOOC is designed to be flexible, modular and freely accessible, so that it can be used both by individual learners and as a resource for VET institutions. By combining technical knowledge, practical applications and awareness of the regulatory framework, the MOOC aims to support the development of future-oriented skills in UAV technology, coding and digital innovation across Europe.
